What duties did you perform during your co-op employment?

"Researched relevant documents bearing on the subject, program, function, or activity that was identified for an audit. Made necessary pre-audit contacts. Determined adherence to prescribed policies. Confirmed or rejected the potential for an effective audit based on preliminary findings. Developed an audit program to include objectives, specific audit steps, techniques, special instructions, and schedule of events."

Most beneficial aspect of being enrolled in the co-op program?

"Great opportunities to explore the auditing career field. Met top management officials in the Audit Agency, major commands, and Air staff. Toured the Pentagon through the mentoring program. Excellent professional development program, flexible work schedule, compressed workweek, traveling opportunities, and financial assistance for post-graduate, job-related studies, and certification review courses."

What duties did you perform during your co-op employment?

"Research Air Force policies and regulations prior to starting audit to determine prior audit coverage. Apply local and Centrally Directed audit programs. Interview clients to obtain information pertaining to audit. Summarize data gathered into useful information. Manipulate voluminous amounts of data into Excel spreadsheets for evaluation. Follow up on all open recommendations made by the auditor to make sure that management completes. Complete electronic work papers for each audit."

Most beneficial aspect of participating in the co-op program?

"Opportunity to perform audits in career setting, ability to continue education, the willingness of management to work with student's schedule, being able to work a compressed schedule, opportunity to travel and work at other bases within the AFAA, availability of a mentoring program, sense of accomplishment, hands on experience/fieldwork, computer training, and an increase in business communication skills."
