Co-op and Internship Testimonials

Brandon James,
Majoring in Computer Engineering,
Junior, One Quarter in the Co-op Program at time of Testimonial.
Employed at NCR Corporation.

What duties did you perform during your co-op employment?

"During my co-op employment, I was responsible for helping test new communication software, to be used internally at NCR, which would increase productivity and improve connectivity among employees. I was also in charge of tracking call records using a database. Then I wrote a query to calculate the company's total minutes used for a particular time period to show how our costs have decreased by using our internal network to make calls."

Most beneficial aspect of being enrolled in the co-op program?

"The most beneficial aspect of participating in the co-op program was the experience of working for a major corporation and working on a team. Corporate communication as well as teamwork is vital for any career. I think these career skills I learned at NCR, as well as the technical skills I gained, will make me more appealing to companies when I begin to search for a job senior year."
